Repair Your Body with PRP

PRP Therapy

One of the most exciting emerging forms of regenerative medicine for pain management and injuries is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy. PRP therapy is a ground breaking non-operative treatment option that relieves pain by naturally promoting long lasting healing of musculoskeletal conditions. Many have attributed PRP injections with enabling them to return back to regular activities and competition with minimal to no pain at all. This rapidly emerging technique shows very promising potential for many conditions such as arthritis, tendonitis, and ligament sprains and tears.

PRP therapy presents patients with a long lasting, permanent solution through the body’s natural healing process. PRP is not something that wears off over time as with a traditional pain injection.

What is PRP?

Platelet rich plasma is human blood that is spun down and separated producing a concentration of platelets above normal values. Platelets are the clotting cells of our blood, but they also have great potential in enhancing healing of muscle, tendon, and ligaments. Studies suggest that growth factors released by platelets recruit reparative cells, may augment tissue repair, and accelerate soft tissue healing.

PRP for Anti-Aging

PRP is also great for improving skin texture and skin quality. Microneedling with PRP is a procedure that involves withdrawing a patient’s blood, processing it to isolate the platelet-rich plasma (PRP), then re-injecting it to erase wrinkles and create a more youthful look.

PRP Therapy helps:
• Improve the appearance of wrinkles, scars and stretch marks
• Rejuvenate the under-eye area
• Tighten stubborn open poors
• Plump and volumize any area (e.g. cheeks) where someone might otherwise gets fillers.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month 2017

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

This October, West Valley Urgent Care is proud to participate in National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast cancer is the second most common kind of cancer in women. About 1 in 8 women born today in the United States will get breast cancer at some point.

The good news is that most women can survive breast cancer if it’s found and treated early.

If you are a woman age 40 to 49, talk with your doctor about when to start getting mammograms and how often to get them.

If you are a woman age 50 to 74, be sure to get a mammogram every 2 years. You may also choose to get them more often.

Talk to one of our providers about your risk for breast cancer, especially if a close family member of yours had breast or ovarian cancer. We can help you decide when and how often to get mammograms.

Flu Shots Now Available

Getting your yearly influenza (flu) shot from West Valley Urgent Care is a quick and convenient way to help protect yourself from the flu. By immunizing yourself, you also help to prevent the spread of the flu.

Every year in August, our urgent care clinics stock that season’s flu vaccine. That way, you can get your flu shot as soon as possible.

Advantages of early vaccination:

  • Ensures that you are prepared in advance for flu season, which can sometimes start in October.
  • Will give your body time to become fully immune, since it takes about two weeks for antibodies to completely develop after receiving the vaccine.
